The 1619 Network is an innovative national multidisciplinary community of practice consisting of more than 400 educators in 30 states who have worked to engage over 10,500 students from Pre-K to college and graduate levels with The 1619 Project. Below is an index of the 21 teams that compose the 2023 cohort of The 1619 Project Education Network.
The 2023 Cohort includes 100 educators working in 14 different states. The projects in this cohort are collaborative and innovative with educators working across grade levels and in partnership with local organizations and heritage sites like the Promise Land Heritage Association and the Hands on History Project at John Brown Farm.
The 2023 Cohort is also our first cohort to fully integrate Higher Education partners. We are proud to have educators working on both classroom and community projects from
