Humanities at Life Academy of Health and Bioscience
CALIFORNIA
Life Academy of Health and Bioscience seeks to interrupt patterns of injustice and inequity in the healthcare system by training young people of color to join the medical field. The humanities team at Life Academy has utilized The 1619 Project to build a unit of study for 11th and 12th grade students, allowing them to investigate the relationship between healthcare and racism in the United States.
