Good Trouble

Our interdisciplinary English and Social Studies team will focus on literacies--reading, writing, music, art, photography, and more--as a form of liberation throughout history. We will look both at how literacy has historically been denied to marginalized groups, and we'll also look at how marginalized groups have used--and are using--literacies to affirm, to organize, to resist, and to find joy to inspire students to do the same.

Students examine the relationship between literacy and liberation by learning about multiple modes of literacy and analyzing examples of how literacy has been used to empower and advocate across time.
