Our project encompasses three parts that build on one another: a) understanding the legacy of slavery and contributions of Black Americans through The 1619 Project; b) doing research on ancestral histories in the United States and their contributions; c) a counternarrative reflecting on hidden or forgotten histories; and what impact this has on the national narrative of our country.
