Elementary Literacy in Chicago Public Schools
ILLINOIS
This team of elementary teachers worked to support literacy and social studies in 4th and 5th grade classrooms. Their unit challenges students to read and explore a variety of literature and informational texts in order to better understand how the past can affect the future and specifically how the history of slavery connects to racial violence endured by Black Americans today.
