Western New York Network of English Teachers

NEW YORK

The Western New York Network of English Teachers gathered 11 teachers from across western New York together to develop antiracist inquiry curriculum centered on The 1619 Project. Educators participated in a summer institute at Buffalo State University, wrote and revised lesson plans aligned to their course work, and implemented plans on fall 2024. Institute participants presented their work and impact during the WNYNET Fall Conference in October of 2024. Student participants will be presenting their learning at the Youth Voices Conference in Spring 2025.
