Queens College SEEK Program

The goal of this project, Demands of Equity in Higher Education, was to challenge the traditional notions about race, history, and education in the United States by taking pre-college students, from the Queens College SEEK program and the College Now Program, on a journey of Black History through education, using the following touchstones: origins, struggles, demands, progress, reparations, and Black Joy. Each touchstone symbolized an aspect of history presented in The 1619 Project paired with the history of the first educational opportunity program (SEEK) in the nation.
