Play Cousins Collective

KENTUCKY

The Play Cousins Collective worked directly with families and educators in the West End of Louisville, KY to advance racial justice through arts & education. Through a four-month arts intensive, the Play Cousins Collective brought together 5,000+ community stakeholders to build the foundation for a Black arts district that will protect the legacy of Black history in Louisville, Kentucky. Initiatives included teacher professional development, community walks, and artist activations. This project was the first step for what we envision: a Black Arts District in the West End that functions as more than just a physical space, but will be the cultural movement our city deserves.
