This project takes a deep look into the impact of public credit policies and loan programs on Colombia's biodiversity. While these policies aim to incentivize the country's agriculture sector, they can also result in harmful effects to the environment.
In fact, every year, governments around the world provide about US$800 billion in environmentally harmful subsidies, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
This investigation by La Silla VacĂa aims to analyze public credit policies in Colombia that could contribute to the deterioration of biodiversity in the Colombian Amazon.
