Sérgio Ponguane

Sérgio Ponguane is a development practitioner and serves as the head of the Department of Consultancy, Studies, Projects, Fundraising, and Business Prospecting at the Instituto Superior Politécnico de Gaza in Mozambique, where he also teaches.
With over a decade of experience in research and extension work both locally and internationally, he focuses on assisting smallholder farmers in adapting to climate change.
Previously, Ponguane led various development projects, including the Ces-Rural project, which aimed to empower women and youth through sustainable resource use and the development of agricultural value chains in Gaza, Mozambique, and Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
Ponguane is a doctoral candidate in agricultural economics in South Africa. He holds a master's in agricultural economics from Egerton University in Kenya and a bachelor's in agronomy from the Université de Blida in Algeria.
