Sanskrita Bharadwaj is an independent journalist based in the state of Assam in India's northeast, a region often ignored by mainstream media. She reports on social justice and human rights, health, culture, and politics. Her work has appeared in Foreign Policy, Slate, Al Jazeera, Atlas Obscura, Women's Media Centre, Article 14, Scroll, Caravan, and other international publications.
Bharadwaj holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Delhi University's Indraprastha College for Women, and a PG diploma in New Media journalism from the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. She is presently in the 2022 class of fellows at South Asia Speaks, a literary mentorship program for early career writers in South Asia.
