Sam Rabiyah

GRANTEE

Sam Rabiyah is a journalist and multidisciplinary technologist based in New York. He works at the intersection of investigative reporting, counter-mapping, data visualization, and oral history to make information more actionable to movement-based organizers and the public.

Alongside teaching at New York University Wagner, Rabiyah was an artist in residence at Eyebeam’s Democracy Machine, a senior researcher and technical lead at the visual investigations firm SITU, a reporter and news apps developer at the local NYC newsroom THE CITY, and an engineer and data lead at the tenant rights civic-tech nonprofit JustFix.

Rabiyah is a graduate of Wesleyan University.
