Opeyemi Alaran

Opeyemi Alaran is an economist with over 10 years of experience driving private sector engagement, economic advocacy, and enterprise development in Nigeria. Having worked with the Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria, he is passionate about advocacy, capacity development, and market access, especially in their roles as catalysts for sustainable economic growth.

Alaran holds a master's degree in economics, is a project management professional, and an information technology professional with expertise in web applications development. 

In 2024, as a Pulitzer Center Impact Seed Funding grantee, Alaran led the implementation of a project in the ISF Africa program. 

The project, Empowering Change: A Documentary and Workshop on Climate Change and Sustainable Practices, sought to inspire local action on climate change within the University of Lagos community. The project featured stakeholder engagement sessions, an educational workshop, and a climate-focused documentary aimed at building climate literacy, encouraging sustainable behavior, and fostering inter-generational dialogue among students, faculty, and researchers.
