Michael Beltran

Independent journalist Michael Beltran has published articles on human rights, labor, migration, climate, and development aggression in outlets including Al Jazeera and the South China Morning Post. In 2024, he joined the editorial team of Taiwan's News Lens International on a part-time basis. He also volunteers for the advocacy paper Pinoy Weekly.
In 2024, he released his first book, The Singing Detainee and the Librarian with One Book, a collection of essays documenting Filipino political exiles in Europe.
In 2023, he was a finalist at the ILO Global Media Competition for a report on undocumented Filipino cleaners in the Netherlands.
