Margaret McCabe

Maggie McCabe is a rising senior at Davidson College, where she is double majoring in political science and communications. She is a Division I swimmer, student leader, and aspiring political reporter with a strong interest in the intersection of media and democracy.

McCabe has reported for Loudoun Now and WBTV News, where she worked in both investigative and political reporting. She has also interned with Firing Line with Margaret Hoover and will join Inside Politics with Dana Bash at CNN this summer. Her work spans from local school board meetings to national campaign coverage.

As a 2025 Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow, McCabe will travel to Georgia to explore how journalists are responding to political pressure, government crackdowns, and Russian influence. Her project will highlight the vital role of independent media in protecting democratic values—and the challenges reporters face on the front lines of that fight.
