Jean Chapiro Uziel
POST-GRAD REPORTING FELLOW
Jean Chapiro is a filmmaker and journalist from Mexico City. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with a major in communication, visual Studies, and cinema studies.
Chapiro holds a master's in documentary journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and is completing a master's of fine arts degree in creative producing at the Columbia University Film School.
Through filmmaking, Chapiro seeks to bridge the gap between entertainment and journalism. She believes that storytelling is at the core of human existence and has the power to cut across political, cultural, and geographical borders.
