Gertie Zwick-Schachter

Gertie Zwick-Schachter is a writer from New York City. She recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a triple-major in Fundamentals: Issues and Texts, Creative Writing, and Human Rights. As a student she supported the work of authors Mark Oppenheimer and Erin McFee, sat on the Editorial Board of Memory House Magazine, taught ESL classes with the Hyde Park Refugee Project, and performed with Maya Dance Company and University Theatre. She is invested in questions about the social utility of storytelling, and the cultivation of "sanctuary" communities in urban spaces.
