Gabriel Farías

Gabriel Farías is a Montevideo, Uruguay-based data journalist, educator, and leader of the Special Projects Desk at Amenaza Roboto, a science and technology journalism website.
In 2024, he received Impact Seed Funding from the Pulitzer Center and wrote a guide designed to help journalists from small and mid-sized newsrooms conduct impactful open data investigations. He is an alumnus of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network.
In 2023, Farías was awarded both a Sigma Award and a World Bank Data Visualization Contest award for his data-driven reporting on climate and science.
