Eric Henrikson

GRANTEE

Eight-time Emmy Award-winning journalist Eric Henrikson is the senior science reporter at KXAN in Austin, Texas. He is also the director and writer of KXAN’s first feature length documentary, Family Beef.

Henrikson also serves as KXAN’s weather producer and manages a five-person weather team. Additionally, he produces CW Austin Morning, the station’s weather and traffic show on the CW Austin.

Henrikson joined KXAN in 2016 as a member of the marketing department before reporting for KXAN.com starting in 2018. He is the co-creator of the Emmy Award-winning series First Warning Weather University

He’s also contributed as either a reporter or creative producer to multiple major investigations, including OutLaw, Dried Up: The West’s Growing Water Crisis, TxTag Troubles, Locked in Limbo, Save Our Students, The Accused, and Pandemic PASS or FAIL.

Since joining KXAN, Henrikson has earned seven Lone Star Emmy Awards, two National Edward R. Murrow Awards, two Society of Professional Journalists First Amendment Awards, and a nomination for the National Scripps Howard Award.
