Ed Kashi

Ed Kashi is an American photojournalist and filmmaker known for intimate, socially engaged documentary work spanning nearly five decades—from the Kurdish people to oil in Nigeria to aging in America. He has earned recognition as one of the most respected voices in visual journalism.

A contributing photographer to the VII Foundation and multimedia pioneer, he's produced 14 books and co-founded Talking Eyes Media with his wife, Julie Winokur.
