I am currently a social studies teacher at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown, KY. In collaboration with the Pulitzer Center and the 1619 Project, myself and Annabeth Edens used resources from the 1619 Project, to create an inquiry based on the role of student voice and federalism in school curriculum. For my district, I am currently creating the district’s common base curriculum for high school Integrated Social Studies based on the Kentucky Academic Standards and the C3 Framework. I earned a dual B.A. in History and Secondary Social Studies Education with a minor in Sociology and my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction - Secondary Social Studies from the University of Kentucky.
