Andrew 'Andy' Robinson

Andrew W. Robinson graduated from the University of North Carolina's School of the Arts with a bachelor's degree in film. He also studied multimedia journalism at Virginia Commonwealth University, and worked in post production for various television productions, including Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey.

Robinson has produced and directed several documentaries about his human-powered travels, including Brothers, which followed a 10,000-mile bicycle tour from Los Angeles to Rio De Janeiro, and Slow Rollers, which documented an attempt to roller ski across Norway.

In 2019, he founded Smith Robinson Multimedia with longtime friend and collaborator Dom Smith to produce science and outdoor documentaries with a focus on sustainable production. Their work has been published on the websites for STAT news, The New York Times, and Scientific American. In 2020 they contributed to In Event of Moon Disaster, a multimedia storytelling project produced by the MIT Center for Advanced Virtuality, which won an Emmy Award for Interactive Media Documentary.
