Iván Carrillo
GRANTEE
Iván Carrillo is a science journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Mexico, specializing in stories about climate change, pollution, and biodiversity conservation. He is a grantee of the Pulitzer Center and an Explorer for the National Geographic Society. He also leads Historias sin fronteras, a cross-border investigative journalism initiative in Latin America, and co-founder of Celsius Media, a platform focused on climate journalism.
Carrillo was a Knight Science Journalism fellow at MIT (2017) and part of the 2024 Earth Journalism Network Reporting Fellowship. He has received multiple national and international awards for his work in environmental journalism. His documentary projects include 1.5 Degrees to Save the Planet (Televisa-Univision), The Future of the Planet (EarthX TV), and the feature film Last Call: Six Species Against Extinction.
