Kawsay Ñampi means "way of life" in the Kichwa language. It is the term used by an Indigenous community in the Ecuadorian Amazon to describe a proposal that seeks to turn the carbon markets upside down. This community has decided to stop using the term "compensation" and instead use "contribution."
