Sean Gallagher's Dongting Hu Project Wins First Place: British Press Photographer's Year

From <em>Untold Stories</em>, the project Dongting Hu: A Lake in Flux has won first place in the 2011 British Press Photographers Year.<br>
This multimedia project by photojournalist Sean Gallagher, commissioned by the Pulitzer Center, is part of a larger reporting initiative that looks at Chinas disappearing wetlands and forests. As Dongting Lake shrinks, scientists explore the extent to which people are affecting the biodiversity of one of the most important lakes in China.<br>
