Join us March 8 for "Black Mamas Matter," a panel on Black maternal health in Gary, Indiana. Free food, drinks & solutions! RSVP now!
Join us for an engaging event, Capital B Gary presents: Black Mamas Matter, a panel discussion taking place on March 8, from 11:00am to 1:30pm CST, at the TBD in Gary, Indiana.
Gary grapples with an intersecting crisis of environmental, social, and economic issues. This, alongside inadequate health care infrastructure, and widespread food insecurity, has created a perfect storm for Black mothers, who face some of the most severe health disparities in the nation—and among the highest maternal mortality rates in the world.
Capital B Gary’s second community engagement event will feature regional health experts addressing the crucial topic of Black maternal health. This powerful discussion will give residents an opportunity to hear from dedicated professionals as they provide answers to important questions surrounding the challenges and disparities faced by Black mothers in Gary and northwest Indiana, followed by a Q&A from the audience.
Similar to the newsroom’s previous “Black Moms and Mimosas" community dialogue, residents are invited to come enjoy free food and drinks while we learn, share resources, and further the critical conversations needed to support the Black moms in our community.
Don’t miss this chance to help create community-oriented solutions in our city—and be part of the positive change we want to see.
Register soon to save your spot! RSVP on Facebook, Eventbrite, or email.
Together, let's empower communities and ensure that Black mamas truly matter.
