For 20 years, the Pulitzer Center has supported breakthrough journalism that helps people make sense of the world and their place in it. From the earliest days of our work to today, we’ve believed that powerful stories do more than inform: They build understanding, spark curiosity, and inspire action. Across continents and communities, we’ve partnered with journalists to bring underreported issues to light and connect those stories to classrooms, public forums, and decision-making spaces where they can drive real change.

EXPLORE OUR STORIES

Over two decades, the Pulitzer Center has supported more than 11,000 stories from journalists around the world—spanning investigative reporting, data-driven projects, photo essays, podcasts, films, and innovative digital storytelling. Together, these stories have exposed injustice, deepened public understanding of complex global issues, and sparked dialogue, education, and action in communities far beyond where they were reported. These stories have also inspired student poetry, letters to elected officials, theatrical performances, art, and policy change.

“I was moved by how carefully the students were thinking about trust and trauma-informed work, particularly as I spoke about my reporting in Congo. It made me hopeful for future journalists.”

"Without the Pulitzer Center grant, it would have been impossible to share Samoa’s story—one that otherwise would not have been seen or heard by most of the American public—at a time when public health reporting has never been more important."
