The Pulitzer Center is calling for organizations in Ghana, Zambia, Ethiopia, and Burkina Faso to submit their proposals for a partnership in activities’ implementation. These activities are designed to engage young professionals and communities and amplify Pulitzer Center-supported journalism on critical issues that are part of the Center’s five focus areas: Climate and Environment, Global Health, Peace and Conflict, Human Rights, and Information and Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on specific stories that are available in the document below.

The Pulitzer Center aims to partner with local organizations including, but not limited to, media outlets, civil society groups, youth and women’s movements, grassroots organizations, and think tanks.

We are offering two categories of partnerships, depending on the type of activity to implement:

1. Webinar and Digital Contest (USD $5,000)
Selected partners will organize either interactive webinars or in-person workshops that spark dialogue among young professionals and community groups. These discussions will serve as the launch pad for a digital contest, where participants propose creative awareness-raising actions inspired by Pulitzer Center-supported stories. Winning ideas will be awarded and promoted on digital platforms, turning conversations into action. We are looking for civil society groups, think tanks, women’s groups, and youth or grassroots movements.

2. Participative Radio Shows (USD $2,500)
Partners will design and host participative radio programs or podcasts based on Pulitzer Center-supported stories. These shows will provide youth and communities with a platform to interact directly with decision-makers, share perspectives, and deepen engagement on the issues that matter most. We are looking for local media or radio outlets and media organizations.

Why do partnerships matter?

By working with organizations that have strong local networks and proven capacity to engage youth, the Pulitzer Center ensures that outreach efforts remain locally led, contextually relevant, and sustainable. These partnerships will not only amplify journalism in innovative formats, but will also help bridge urban and rural audiences, fostering more inclusive and informed dialogue.
