1619 Global Connections Resource Collection

This collection pulls together resources from the '1619' Global Connections Series that connect America's origin stories to contemporary global issues.

The thematic guides in this collection were created as resources for the 1619 Global Connections Series, a workshop series designed to equip educators with resources and strategies for connecting America's origin stories to contemporary global issues.

Throughout the series, educators practiced media literacy and global citizenship as they explored Pulitzer Center reporting on Global Health, Climate and Environment, Peace and Conflict, and Information and AI that directly relates to The 1619 Project goals of interrogating historical narratives, acknowledging Black Americans’ contributions to history, and understanding the lasting legacies of slavery.

These digital versions of the Global Connections Series audience guides showcase the resources curated for each workshop, highlighting 1619 Project materials, Pulitzer Center journalism, and curricular resources connected to each critical global issue.
