Join the National Association of Hispanic Journalists on July 2, 2021, at 4:30pm EDT for a discussion on producing high-impact documentaries on complex topics. A panel of Pulitzer Center grantees will provide practical advice on choosing a narrative arc, filming scenes, and adjusting to shifting situations in the field. This event will feature:

  • Nadja Drost, a journalist based in New York City. She works in print, radio, and television, and regularly reports from Latin America as a special correspondent for PBS NewsHour. Her Pulitzer Center-supported projects have covered Venezuela's social crisis, the search for Colombia's disappeared, and migration through the Americas.
  • Bruno Federico, an Italian filmmaker and cinematographer based in New York City. His Pulitzer Center-supported project, Extra-Continental Migration: The Longest Journey to America, discusses the journey of extra-continental migrants—from places as far and disparate as Cameroon, Iran, and Bangladesh—on one of the most circuitous routes to reach the United States via South and Central America.
