ICYMI: New Stories by Reporting Fellows

Author:

Happy New Year! We hope 2023 is off to a great start.

Over the past month, we've published a variety of work from our Reporting Fellows that we're happy to share with our Campus Consortium community and beyond.

In a piece published by Al Jazeera, Columbia University Post-Grad Fellow Anna Gordon explains how a group of former midwives, a new constitution, and universal healthcare are helping decrease maternal mortality in Kenya's Nandi County.

PBS NewsHour and The Hechinger Report published reporting by University of Richmond Fellow Emma Davis. Her project examines the ways in which a Danish school is addressing the changing demographics of the country in its curriculum and traditions.

While reporting on opioid addiction and treatment in northern Vietnam, Boston University Fellow Eliza Billingham spoke with students about their experiences at the Aquila Dream Academy. The academy is an English-language Christian school serving nearly 40 students who are the children of staff and participants at the Aquila Rehab Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.

In Ukraine, many are finding comfort and meaning in religion, particularly those within the historically suppressed Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, writes University of Richmond Fellow Madeleine Long.

Recent reporting from Texas Christian University Fellow JD Pells details the systemic barriers designed and enforced by the government and corporations that prevent Ghanaians from mining gold safely and legally.

We invite you to read additional reporting by our Fellows and share their work widely with your networks. Here's to another year of important stories by our Campus Consortium Reporting Fellows!

All the best,

The Campus Consortium Team
